Culture entrepreneur
Gustav is driven by one fundamental conviction: that culture does not belong only in the big cities. The opportunities to create and experience art must be more equal, no matter where in the country or in the world you live, and no matter what background you come from.
He believes in DIY culture, and that healthy communities are rooted in the local scene. He believes that culture is not a consumer product, but an interaction between people. Therefore, he believes we can reach new heights with culture by bringing user involvement into professional practice within experience culture, music, and the vast majority of art.
Gustav believes that culture plays a key role in wellbeing, loneliness, inequality, and democracy. And that young people right now truly need to create their own culture. For a better future.
For en bedre fremtid.

KANTEN
KARFTVÆRKET
Kanten Esbjerg is a volunteer-driven youth culture community that was founded in 2021, with its opening day on May 12, 2022. The association focuses on strengthening the cultural grassroots scene in Esbjerg and offers a range of activities and events, including art, music, and creative workshops. Kanten also offers a stronger safety policy to make the city feel more secure for young people.
The association's activities take place primarily at Huset Esbjerg, where the community have the capacity to host concerts, which has room for 150 people. With the concert hall, they have created a dynamic and transparent space, capable of accommodating many different artistic genres, formats, and needs.
Kraftværket was an old music rehearsal space at Bieringhus Efterskole. When the old boarding school was being converted into the cultural centre named Platform, there was a desire to renovate the facilities. In 2021, Gustav renovated the rehearsal space into what became Kraftværket. Kraftværket was meant to elevate musical opportunities in the Østerbyen district. Here, Gustav among other things provided teaching for young people in the job centre programme Vindmøllen. The studio had a broad focus, covering both performing and producing music, as well as DJing. Normally there were around 20 users per month. Today it is run by the association Værftet.
